Buxton Photography’s Privacy Policy is checked and updated regularly. Last updated: 16/08/2022

What is GDPR?

The Data Protection Act actioned in May 2018 is the UK’s implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It also controls how your personal information is used by organisations, businesses or the government. For any further information on this you can visit the Government Website link: www.gov.uk/data-protection

My Client’s privacy is very important to me so any personal details that I retain must be GDPR compliant and this Privacy Policy ensures this.
I along with many others that are responsible for using personal data have to abide by strict rules called Data Protection Principles’.

I have to make sure that your information is:

- Used for specified, explicit purposes
- Used in a way that is adequate, relevant and limited to only what is necessary accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date
- Kept for no longer than is necessary

I will always be available to discuss your personal details and if you were ever in the need to request for your details to be erased, I can action that for you no problem but please be aware that I will require some form of personal identification along with proof of your address in order to confirm your identity before going ahead in removing you from my database. Image use and your data

Because the GDPR rules and regulations are a little vague in regards to what we can and cannot do with our images as photographers, I’ll provide you with what my process involves:

I really do take pride in my work and I LOVE sharing with you all the special moments that I have captured be it from weddings or my lifestyle work but I can only display my work with your signed consent on the contract.

I also do not take on any new photo shoots without the signing of a contract which covers many T&Cs and clauses to present your expectations of me as your photographer and vice versa. To access your contract with me, I use a company called JOTFORM which is a service in which I provide my clients with an online contract to read through and digitally sign.

When it comes to receiving your Commercial or Lifestyle images (wedding photos are provided in a different format and procedure) I upload all of the finalised photos onto an online gallery called PIXIESET which is secure and password protected. You will receive an email from myself with a link notifying you that your images are ready to view and download along with the password to access them of course!

Wedding photographs are uploaded onto a personalised wooden USB stick that will be handed over to
you by myself in person on an arranged date, no online gallery.
